Investigation of static and dynamic electronic transport characteristics of zigzag arsenene nanoribbons: An ab-initio study

dc.description.abstractElectrical transmission characteristics of zigzag arsenene nanoribbons having various widths are investigated in this paper. Both static current-voltage characteristics and dynamic kinetic inductance, quantum capacitance and cut-off frequency parameters are obtained via ab initio computations for zigzag arsenene nanoribbons having eight different widths. The results expose that while negative differential resistance characteristics are common to all of the studied nanoribbons while current-voltage variations, negative differential voltage ranges and negative differential resistance values of these nanoribbons strongly depend on the width. The differences among these different current-voltage characteristics are explained using transmission spectra and transmission eigenstates. Moreover, kinetic inductance, quantum capacitance and cut-off frequency values of these zigzag ar senene nanoribbons are also computed which also shows a strong width dependency from a dynamic behaviour viewpoint. The study concludes with possible practical applications of these findings.
