Özet
Meskhetian Turks are Islamic-Turkish origin ethnic group which were forced to migrate from the Caucasia region. They were first deported in 1944 to the inner Middle Asia. Then they followed the migration route which overlaps many countries that have different languages and religions such as Russia, USA, Ukraine and Turkey. Turkey is a country where many Meskhetian Turks live in different regions. Due to the fact that Meskhetian Turks have common cultural and historical background with Turkish people, they are almost invisible in the society. So, they have been very successful to comply with the Turkish society in contrast with the other ethnic groups living in Turkey. In this study, the integration period of Meskhetian Turks to the Turkish society will be discussed in terms of common values like ‘language’ and ‘religion’. The role of these two facts in the interaction of Meskhetian Turks with themselves and the Turkish society will be emphasized. The contribution of language and religion in the integration period will be executed as a result of a literature search about the Meskhetian Turks that has come and are still coming to Turkey via different migration routes.
