dc.description.abstractThe carrier frequency offset (CFO) tracking performances of channel equalizers used in time varying frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels for single (SC) and Multi Carrier (MC) WiMAX radio has been investigated in this paper. Non-linear equalizer, decision feedback equalizer (DFE), is employed in SC radio and frequency domain equalizer (FDE) is also used in MC WiMAX radio. The performances of both systems for different values of CFO are compared. Computer simulations results using IEEE 802.16-2004 standard have demonstrated that the SC WiMAX radio has considerably better performance than the MC WiMAX radio in time varying frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels.
