Öğe A New Waveform Design based on Sequentially Connected ILWT and FWHT Transforms(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2020) Cengiz, Caner; Bilbay, Ozcan; Akilli, Ahmet Halit; Sert, Serhat; Özen, AliIn this study, zero tail inverse Lifting wavelet transform spread fast Walsh Hadamard transformed OFDM (ZT-ILWTs FWHT OFDM) is recommended as an alternative to the OFDM waveform for the new generation of wireless transmission systems. The recommended waveform is composed of a combination of inverse Lifting wavelet transform (ILWT) and fast Walsh Hadamard transform (FWHT) with OFDM waveform. The proposed waveform is tested with computer simulation studies for bit error rate (BER), peak to average power ratio (PAPR) and out of band emission (OOBE) performance criteria. From the attained results, it is observed that the recommended waveform is better than classical OFDM and zero-tail discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (ZT-DFT-S OFDM) waveforms for all three performance criteria. © 2020 IEEE.Öğe Improving the Performance of Flip OFDM Systems for Visible Light Communication Systems(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2020) Bilbay, Ozcan; Cengiz, Caner; Akilli, Ahmet Halit; Sert, Serhat; Özen, AliOptical wireless communication technology is one of the most important alternative schemes for radio frequency communication. Flip orthogonal frequency division multiplexing OFDM (Flip-OFDM) is a type of indoor optical wireless communication that transmits the positive and the absolute values of negative parts of the signal in two successive OFDM symbols. In this paper, the Fast Walsh Hadamard Transform (FWHT) based Flip-OFDM method (FWHT Flip-OFDM) is proposed to improve the performance of the Flip-OFDM system. Computer simulation studies are performed to test the performance of the proposed method over the bit error rate (BER) and peak to average power ratio (PAPR) performance criteria. From the obtained simulation results, it is observed that the proposed method is better than both VLC-OFDM and Flip-OFDM methods for both performance metrics. © 2020 IEEE.Öğe Improving the Performance of Optical Single Carrier Frequency Domain Channel Equalizer for Visible Light Communications(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2020) Sert, Serhat; Akilli, Ahmet Halit; Bilbay, Ozcan; Cengiz, Caner; Özen, AliIn this study, it is recommended to use Turbo channel coding (TC) technique to increase the performance of optical single carrier frequency domain channel equalizer (OSCFDCE) used to repair the data that is distorted in multipath optical channel environment of single carrier (SC) visible light communication (VLC) systems. Computer simulations are performed to verify the performance of the proposed Turbocoded OSC-FDCE method in the 5, 6, and 10 taps multipath optical channel environment based on the bit error rate (BER) performance criterion. From the obtained simulation results, it is seen that the error base of the OSC-FDCE method is eliminated with TC OSC-FDCE method and has a better performance than TC VLC orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) frequency domain equalizer (FDE) method (TC VLC-OFDM-FDE). © 2020 IEEE.
