A Comparative Performance Analysis of Channel Equalizer in OFDM System Under Jamming Attacks
(Ali KARCI, 2021) Devellioğlu, Timurhan; Polat, Efecan; Küçükusta, Nuh Mehmet; Besceli, Burak; Tanrıkulu, Enver Faruk; Güçlü, Mehmet Murat; Özen, Ali
In this article, the accomplishment of OFDM systems under different jamming attacks is analyzed. Partial band jamming signal suppressing OFDM data packets partially and full band jamming signal suppressing all OFDM data packets are examined in this study. Computer simulation works are carried out to analyze the achievement of the OFDM system over AWGN and frequency selective Rayleigh fading channels under both jamming attacks. In addition, comparative performance analysis of different equalizer structures in frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel environment is performed. From the obtained results, it is seen that frequency domain equalizers combat jamming attack signals in the best way and provide the best performances.

A Comparative Performance Evaluations of SC and MC VLC Systems in Underwater Environments
(Ali KARCI, 2021) Güçlü, Mehmet Murat; Besceli, Burak; Polat, Efecan; Devellioğlu, Timurhan; Tamer, Gökberk; Küçükusta, Nuh Mehmet; Tanrıkulu, Enver Faruk
In this study, comparative performance analyzes of single carrier (SC) and multi carrier (MC) visible light communication (VLC) schemes in underwater optical channel environments are performed. Computer simulation studies are carried out to compare SC and MC VLC communication systems in underwater optical LOS and N-LOS channel environments based on bit error rate (BER) success benchmark. From the acquired outcomes, it is perceived that SC-VLC communication system has approximately 8 dB better performance than MC-VLC communication system in both channel environments.

A comparative study of coded and uncoded optical frequency domain channel equalizer in visible light communications
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2021) Toprakci, Gamze; Temurtas, Sinem; Polat, Efecan; Özen, Ali
This article recommends using channel encoders to develop the achievement of optical single carrier frequency domain equalizers (OSC-FDE) in multi-path optical channel environment, which is an alternative to OFDM waveform for visible light communication (VLC) systems. Reed Solomon (RS) and convolutional coding (CC) are used as channel encoders. Computer simulations are made to compare the encoded OSC-FDE method with the non-encoded OSC-FDE and VLC-OFDM methods over the bit error rate (BER) achievement criteria. From the acquired outcomes, it is perceived that 18 dB SNR development is achieved, especially with the convolutional coding. © 2021 IEEE.

A Comparative Study of SC and MC Underwater Acoustic Communication Systems
(Ali KARCI, 2021) Besceli, Burak; Güçlü, Mehmet Murat; Polat, Efecan; Devellioğlu, Timurhan; Moğol, Taha; Küçükusta, Nuh Mehmet; Tanrıkulu, Enver Faruk
In this study, comparative performance analyzes of single carrier (SC) and multi carrier (MC) underwater acoustic communication (UWAC) schemes are performed in underwater acoustic channel environments. Computer simulation studies are carried out to compare SC and MC UWAC communication systems in multi-path underwater acoustic channel environments based on bit error rate (BER) and mean square error (MSE) accomplishment benchmarks. From the acquired outcomes, it is perceived that the MC-UWAC communication scheme has approximately 3 dB better achievement than the SC-UWAC communication scheme.

An investigation of the effects of channel coding techniques in SC and MC VLC systems in AWGN and color noise environment
(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2021) Polat, Efecan; Kucukusta, Nuh Mehmet; Devellioglu, Timurhan; Besceli, Burak; Toprakci, Gamze; Guelu, Mehmet Murat; Mogol, Taha
In this study, the effects of channel coding techniques in single carrier (SC) and multi carrier (MC) visible light communication (VLC) systems are investigated. Reed Solomon (RS) and convolutional coding (CC) methods are utilized as channel coding techniques. Computer simulations are carried out in AWGN and colored noise environments to compare the performance of coded and un-coded SC-VLC and MC-VLC systems over bit error rate (BER) achievement criteria. The simulation outcomes show that SC-VLC systems are approximately 10 dB better than MC-VLC systems. © 2021 IEEE.
