Temel Psikolojik İhtiyaçlar Kuramı (Ryan ve Deci, 2002), psikoloji alanında ön plana çıkan kuramlardan Öz-Belirleme Kuramının (Deci ve Ryan, 1980; Ryan ve Deci, 2017) dördüncü alt kuramıdır. Kurama göre bireyin optimal esenliğe ulaşabilmesi için özerklik, yeterlik ve ilişkisellik isimli üç temel psikolojik ihtiyacını tatmin etmesi gerekmektedir. Bu üç temel ihtiyacın doyumu birey için olumlu çıktılarla ilişkili iken, temel ihtiyaçların engellenmesi ise olumsuz çıktılarla sonuçlanmaktadır. Finkel, Rusbult, Kumashiro, and Hannon (2002, Study 1) demonstrated a causal link between subjective commitment to a relationship and how people responded to hypothetical betrayals of that relationship. Participants primed to think about their commitment to their partner (high commitment) reacted to the betrayals with reduced exit and neglect responses relative to those primed to think about their independence from their partner (low commitment). Basic psychological need frustration and health: Prospective associations with sleep quality and cholesterol

In the present study we examined whether basic psychological need frustration is related to poor sleep quality and risky cholesterol levels using National Survey of Midlife Development in the United States (MIDUS) data sets. We first constructed autonomy, competence and relatedness frustration scales from the items used in the MIDUS survey and validated its factor structure in a pilot study (N = 287). Bereaved Parents’ Change in Mental Health during a Dyadic Diary

Recent years have seen a shift in the number of bereavement studies examining daily grief processes, but our knowledge is still limited due to the lack of dyadic research. In this paper, we explored the change in mental health in the course of a seven-day dyadic diary with bereaved couples who lost their child during pregnancy, labor, or afterward.
